PANTHERS TO PORTLAND
BAK STUDIOS – This week on the Power Play Post Show, Hosts Bob Howard and Megan Reiff return to the airwaves with another great episode covering the American Hockey League. On this week’s show, the two hosts breakdown the latest on the Florida Panthers and the Portland Pirates entering into a multi-year agreement starting in the 2015-16 season. The two hosts discuss the immediate reports of three other affiliation moves including where might the Arizona Coyotes land for next season and that may not be with the San Antonio Rampage as most might think.
The two hosts then discuss once again the debate of the role of the American Hockey League, is it just a developmental league to get prospects up to the National Hockey League or does winning play apart in the leagues existence with the Calder Cup and private owners who have a real stake in their AHL franchise winning a championship.
This week’s special guests:
- Chris Roy – Beat-writer – Portland Pirates – Maine Hockey Journal – On Twitter: @Chris_MHJ – Chris joined the show this week to talk about the news that the Portland Pirates have reached an affiliation agreement with the Florida Panthers, the play of the Pirates and the San Antonio Rampage players as they will be making the trip to Portland full-time next season.
