Nearly halfway through the Utica Comets’ inaugural American Hockey League season, the team and their home are drawing praise.

Stadium Journey, a website that provides sports fans reviews of live events at venues around the world, ranked the experience at the Utica Memorial Auditorium a 3.9 out of a possible 5 stars. Each review takes into account seven factors: food and beverage; atmosphere; neighborhood; fans; access; return on investment; and extras. Springfield Falcons notebook: 20th anniversary celebration, Lucy Hale concert, Springfield Hockey Heritage Society

SPRINGFIELD – Minor league and major junior hockey teams across the United States and Canada are known for unveiling special jerseys for all sorts of occasions.

Recently, a Canadian team sported sweaters that looked like one of the loud, colorful suits worn by “Hockey Night in Canada” host Don Cherry.

However, if there were ever an appropriate instance for a commemorative uniform, the Springfield Falcons have it. The Birds will honor their 20th anniversary Saturday by wearing a special jersey for their game against the Providence Bruins at the MassMutual Center… Read more
