With the American Hockey League season starting this weekend, the Power Play Post Show brings the fans 4 great interviews from around the AHL.
Host Bob Howard was joined first by American Hockey League President & CEO, Dave Andrews. Bob & Dave talked about the start to the season; marketing in the AHL during the lockout; all the great players playing in the league this season; the All-Star game in Providence and the importance of the Hershey Bears vs. the the 29 teams in the league.
Bob then moved out west to Milwaukee with Aaron Sims, the radio play-by-play broadcaster of the Milwaukee Admirals. Aaron gave his thoughts and insights on the Admirals upcoming season; traveling a bunch of times early on in the season and provided his thoughts on the lockout and it’s affects on hockey in North America.
Eric Rogers of 1430thegame.com joined the show next to talk about arguably the best team in the American Hockey League on paper, the Oklahoma City Barons. Due to the lockout, the Barons have received three outstanding young players in Jordan Eberle, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Justin Schultz. Eric helps breakdown how these three very talented NHL players will impact the Barons this season; the expectations everyone in the Barons/Oilers organization has on the team and even the impact on the league and team there will be if and when another highly talented Oilers superstar joins the team in Taylor Hall.
The PPPS’s New England Insider, Gerry Cantlon joined the show next to help preview the start to the season highlighting the Northeast Division and the start to the season for the Connecticut Whale. Gerry also added insight to the NHL lockout, the impacts on the hockey world in North America and for the American Hockey League.
