This week on the Power Play Post Show; Host Bob Howard welcomes 3 guests to the show to discuss the American Hockey League, the NHL lockout and a whole lot more. Host Bob also goes through the first batch of pre-season games as the AHL begins it’s exhibition games before the regular season starts on October 12th.
Bob’s first guest on the show this week is Billy Gardner, the Chicago Wolves TV Color Analyst. Billy talks extensively about the NHL lockout, last season’s Wolves team, this seasons team and how the American Hockey League will be affected with the all the younger talent being sent down to the AHL teams.
Phil Giubileo, radio play-by-play broadcaster for the Bridgeport Soundtigers was Bob’s second guest on the show. Phil broke down last season’s Soundtigers end to the regular season what went wrong in the first round of the playoffs vs. the Connecticut Whale. Phil also talked about the NHL lockout and it’s affects of the Soundtigers and the AHL teams.
Joining the Power Play Post Show for his first appearance was Stephen Meserve who writes for & owns Hundred Degree Hockey.com, which covers the Texas Stars. Steve talks about the Stars 2011/12 season and how the team needs to be more defensive minded coming into this season and also talks how the NHL lockout will affect the the AHL even in Texas.
