Sn 8 Ep 23: Tim McManus, Lindsay Kramer, Jonathan Bombulie April 5, 2012
As the American Hockey League schedule comes closer to an end the Power Play Post Show gears up for the Calder Cup Playoffs with 3 great guests from the world of AHL beat-writers. Host Bob Howard starts the show off talking about the AHL standings and breaking down the tight playoff races in both the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference.
This week’s first guest on the show is the Adirondack Phantoms beat-writer, Tim McManus who writes for the Post Star in Glens Falls, NY. Bob and Tim discuss the play of the Phantoms; the chances for making the playoffs and what needs to happen for the Phantoms to make the playoffs in their 3rd season. A more important conversation also happened in this interview as Bob and Tim talked about a recent article that Tim wrote criticizing the Philadelphia Flyers for how they have handled their farm club in Glens Falls and how Tim was black-balled after this article was released in the Post-Star.
Bob’s second guest on the show was Syracuse Crunch beat-writer, Lindsay Kramer from the Post Standard in Syracuse NY. Lindsay spoke to Bob about the up and down play of the Crunch this season, the much improved play of Patrick Maroon, the Crunch’s playoff push and about the possibilities of a new affiliation coming in next season and replacing the Anaheim Ducks.
Ending this week’s edition of the Power Play Post Show and joining Bob is Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins beat-writer from the Citizen’s Voice, Jonathan Bombulie. JB and Bob discuss the Penguins upcoming match up with the Hershey Bears in the Calder Cup Playoffs, the health of this team vs. last season’s Baby Penguins heading into the playoffs and the perception of the organization’s biggest stars in Pittsburgh.
All this and much more on the latest edition of the Power Play Post Show.
